Oh my...how FUN! 
Today Grandpop is taking Riley and her "big girl" cousin to the toy store (always a treat) . . . . . and then to the park! 
And guess what they are going to do??? 
FLY KITES!!
And Grandpop has promised Riley that she can have a kite of her very own...a PRETTY kite of course!

What a perfect springtime adventure!    
Isn't spring great? Aren't Kites great??
Aren't GRANDPOPS great???!!!!!

Pleated Skirt ~ Knit Blouse ~ Wool Felt Vest

Riley is ready for her kite flying adventure in a set that is just perfect for a lovely spring day.  Her "above the knee" pleated skirt is paired with a crisp white cotton knit blouse that features small cap sleeves trimmed to match her skirt.  The neckline and back openings are also trimmed, and a pair of tiny pink buttons embellish the blouse front.  Over the little blouse, Riley wears a wool felt vest that perfectly complements the set.  The vest is trimmed with embroidery that echoes the colors of her skirt, and a loop and button closure keeps it snug around her waist. The back opening is secured with hidden snaps.

Finishing off this perky outfit, Riley wears a cozy sweater coat, handknit in a rich turquoise blue imported wool.  Riley's coat is richly embellished  with a combination of applique, embroidery and applied materials. . . . and features a pair of "high flying kites"!  The kites, with their bow bedecked tails, whimsically trail around all sides of the coat,   Braided trim and bows add a touch of interest to the sleeves as well.  Small buttons embellish the collar and tiger's eye beads provide the front closure

Wow..Riley DID get a pretty kite!  But then...of course such a pretty girl would have a pretty kite!     Off they go to the park....I bet Riley's kite will fly the highest!!
